In a recent post I talked about how to change your life and the steps one needs to take to begin their incredible journey of transformation. In the forefront the idea of change is what makes many people nervous to the point of stand still. In this stand still we see how growth is not limited by outside pressures, it is not limited by the scale of the scope or dream, but limited by one’s aspirations and self confidence.

In today’s post segment I will share with you words of wisdom about life, some funny, some harsh, some we have never given thought to. In short this is a light, humorous, in your face and fun approach to analyzing the world around us. You see I take personal development very seriously, but life itself should be. Now I am not saying to kick back with your legs up and watch life pass you by, basically what I am saying is that when we look at life from a pensive, poker-faced, somber angle we tend to take ourselves too seriously and often times over analyze our situations and projections.

Let’s get you out of your shell, and entertain you a little shall we ?

When it comes to life we need embrace the fact that it is an evolution. Just as man evolved from neanderthal to the modern skinny jeans wearing, iphone gripping socialite. Evolution has taught us that change is good if not necessary for the survival of all species. So when we look at life from an individualistic perspective it is pretty safe to say that change is not only normal, but required. Now I say this because there are many people who struggle with change as we tend to view “change” with such a negative stigma, but change is good, always good.

With change, we learn lessons about life and ourselves, some lessons are good others are bad, but their is almost a novelty or refresh in life as we undergo those changes and take on those lessons. Keeping life fresh and challenging is the key here and that is why you will learn…

HOW TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE

They say over 40% of our daily decisions are not decisions at all but simply habits. So your daily trip to “Dunkin Donuts” for a fresh brew is not a decision you have made but a habit. How about eating ? we have certain eating habits, and the more that you explore your daily routine the more you will see that much of it is narrated by habit.

So the first step in changing your life is to “CHANGE YOUR HABITS“

Identify habits pursuant to the goal in mind!

Identify the habits that prevent you from achieving your goals. If your goal is to live a healthy lifestyle, than the right thing to do is to reevaluate your habits. Do you smoke ? do you drink ? do you run ? Are you a fast food junky ?

Here are some simple steps to redefining your day, and ultimately sculpt the changes that will lead to a better life.

Sleep: In such a fast paced society with obligations such as work, kids, and late night television it is important that you invest 8 hours of that day sleeping. An article from Harvard’s Medical School suggests that sleep provides an assortment of benefits, including mind acuteness - Sleep, Learning, Memory & Mental Health . Physical Health – Increased Metabolism and Immune Function to name a few

Prioritize Your Routines: Just because your day seems busy doesn’t mean you are out there saving the world, it simply means that you should set priority to certain tasks, replace late night TV with an evening jog (treadmill works too) this will assure you are exhausted and get to bed early so you can get that extra snooze time.

Consider where you are financially: No one and I mean no one in this world is content with their financial situation, we are harvesters (animals like all others) and we seek to have as much resource as possible. Now for some, education or career change may be of necessity to increase earning potential, but from my experience the old adage holds true “people will always spend more than they can afford or at capacity” Now if you hold a decent job but find yourself just getting by ask yourself this important question. Is my job keeping me poor or is it my spending habits ? being honest with yourself and asking yourself this question can definitely change your life for the better. Historically the average American has a debt to income ratio of 60 cents of debt to every dollar earned, during the economic destruction we saw that number balloon to $1.31 to $1.00 earned now in the current recovery we see that number drop a bit $1.16 of debt to every $1.00 earned. – Source – Clark Howard. So consider your financial situation with vigilance and schedule a plan to get out of debt or resist temptation to buy that next super cool gadget. Lowering your DTI % will allow for much more discretionary income and tadaaa you will feel rich within your means . Now if you are truly looking for a way to make more money check this out

Reinvent your surroundings before you reinvent yourself: This is important because you are looking for ways to change your life and you certainly need a support structure and environment to facilitate that change and growth. If it means you move out of that apartment next to train station, so you can get more sleep, or distance yourself from friends and people who are stuck in their lives, make sure this change happens first otherwise it will be difficult to change your life and habits, remember social pressure is an incredibly powerful thing, and you need to align yourself with individuals who share the same passion of growth and personal development as you do.

So there you have it, to begin the process of changing your life starting today is not as arduous as we all tend to believe, it is a matter of choice and self reflecting, in the end if I can do it, so can you

Avant Business Opportunity Review

There are not many times when an online business comes to the forefront and presents a true opportunity to help individuals transform their lives while building a substantial income at the same time. As a personal development coach who has achieved incredible business success, Avant (we are avant) embodies the exact same principles and methods that I have used over 20 years to build one successful business venture after another.

Approached by a neighbor a few short months ago I was introduced to the Avant business opportunity and at first glance the compensation plan seemed confusing, a but ambitious if you will, but the lure for me was how one can leverage their time and effort to create a phenomenal income through a commission structure that has real estate agents, insurance agents, and many other sales professionals scratching their heads in envy.

Is the Avant business opportunity legit ?

I cannot offer an answer more compelling than a resound YES!. Having earned several hundred thousand a year on average with my own business and sales ventures, it bogged my mind to hear how one guy is doing over $100,000 per month on the internet. Now I am an old school type of guy who believed in the brick and mortar establishment, succumbing to overhead, employee salaries, taxes, operational costs basically everything that comes with owning a “BUSINESS” , it truly rattled my cage a little bit to hear about a 1 man show who is consistently earning over $1.2 million a year ON THE INTERNET!

Imagine actually achieving the life you have always wanted. All your personal goals – physical, emotional, spiritual, financial – are fulfilled and you experience a higher quality of life every single day. This life is possible. – Avant Corporate Site

Now the funny thing here is I already felt very accomplished in life, as I shared before I am a life long student of personal development and believe in the “Law Of Attraction” like every physicist believes in the “Law Of Gravity”. I believe “you get out what you put into this world” and you manifest all thoughts and dreams whether positive or negative therefore I have spent most of my life keeping my pendulum on the positive side. For those who struggle with maintaining a positive attitude I would advise you read my personal development section.

Can you make money with AVANT ?

This review may seem a little biased as I am an Avant rep. However I do believe in Brent Payne’s track record of building successful companies and businesses that help others achieve the financial success they have always wanted. Now my pretense for joining avant was not built around the “MONEY” but more-so built around “helping others”

The true meaning of life is to plant trees, under whose shade you do not expect to sit. ~Nelson Henderson

What I bring to the business is coaching and personal development expertise, along with a solid team of internet marketers that will help me help you achieve the financial abundance you could only dream of. My legacy isn’t going to be built on how much money I have made because I already own that trophy! However, as the quote above suggests my personal ambitions are to change the lives of any and every individual who says “Thax can you help me?” And I believe wholeheartedly that Avant will let me help you.

The Avant Compensation Plan

Lets face it we are hard wired to be negative. Negativity is burdened upon us since the onset of birth, in fact the first words we learn are “MA, PA and NO” does that mean we are inherently balls of negative thoughts ? No (oops) but this does mean that there are aspects of our being that we have to refine and this is critical in your growth and personal development.

In contrast to our negative bias we are also geared to THRIVE and prosper like every other living thing on earth otherwise it would be death for all. So why are we so negative ? While we tend to hope, pray, rejoice in positive experiences or happenings in our lives, we are more receptive to negative experiences like fear, threats, or punishment, again this is engraved early on in life, as a child we are taught punishment for misbehavior, as working adults we are often exposed to corporate culture that manage employees by instilling fear in the workplace.

How many times have we “talked” to ourselves while at work and thought,“my efforts go unnoticed!” seemingly life takes on the shape of a negative curriculum, yet we acclimate ourselves to negative environments since it is institutionalized in who we are, simply negative because that is what the world creates.

Our brain absorbs negative experiences like a sponge as an act of learning, we learn wrong before we learn right. Therefore our brain is tuned on how not to be WRONG FIRST, but perceives being “RIGHT” as a reward often short lived until we are WRONG AGAIN!

Rick Hanson, Ph.D., a neuropsychologist and founder of the Wellspring Institute for Neuroscience and Contemplative Wisdom , writes

Negative stimuli produce more neural activity than positive stimuli. Negative events are also quickly stored in your long-term memory while you need to actively think about positive events for twelve seconds or more in order for them to be transferred to your long-term memory.

Think about this, this is not a individual phenomenon but simply the natural order of things: social, psychological evolution if you will, that effects every man, woman, and child. Need proof ? Watch the latest sports highlights on ESPN: no matter the sport no matter what part of the world, an athlete is subject to criticism at any given moment, heralded as a hero for the game winning shot, but written off as a loser the very next night for the “game losing miss”

The same goes for us in our daily lives…Off to work, managed to beat traffic, stop for a cup of coffee and OOPS spilled all over ourselves on the day we are supposed to give that PRESENTATION, we then adapt the IM DOOMED mentality, and that’s why an otherwise good day can be so easily spoiled. We give tremendous weight to negativity.

SO HOW DO YOU BEAT NEGATIVITY ?

Knowing how our brain functions, and how it weighs scenarios it is important to understand that life is made up of complex but independent variables. Variables that you can control.

Focus on what matters most – In pursuit of your goals is it the outcome or is it everything in between that matters most ?

Create your own vision

Avoid OPS – better stated avoid others peoples S#!T , you have to overcome your own negative wiring why vest your time in untangling the negativity of others ?

Change your social circle – As they say you are who you hang out with…success breeds success, positiveness breeds positiveness, and the same goes for negativity

Emulate someone of success – This is critical and it is something I preach upon daily, as they say, “if you can’t beat them, BE LIKE THEM”

Laugh – Laughter is the best cure, it is a way to release endorphins, the same stuff we release during sex – laughing helps us cope and gives us that stimulus of happiness and well being.

Escape – Fight or Flee , sometimes you need to walk away give yourself space, whether at work, at home, in your relationship – Go on vacation, a walk, or just a weekend getaway. This gives you the off time to regroup, and to re-energize, and rethink our approach. This is important !!!

In my pasts posts on Personal Development I talked about tips and strategies to personal growth and how to stay the route with the destination in mind. Now, before I continue I can only offer this one analogy,“I can give you the map, I can give you the car, but I won’t give you the gas.” the stuff is expensive!

GAS = PERSONAL WILL

However when we are talking about excuses …

Excuses = Leak In The Tank

Make 1 or enough excuses and you will go empty pretty fast. If this doesn’t make sense to you then maybe just maybe I am not writing this clear enough for you, so I will try to explain it another way.

EXCUSES SUCK !

Most recently I had a late night text chat with a dear friend of mine who just like myself shares the passion of body building. Five (5) weeks away from my competition I updated my friend on my progress down to 180 lbs with 8% body fat, an impressive feat given where I started…

Curious as to how I managed such a transformation, I clued him in.

The exact text follows:

Workout at 4:30 am to 5:30 then have protein drink. Shower then eat a huge bowl of oatmeal. Then about 30 minutes later 6 eggs one yolk only. Couple of hours a handful of nuts and protein drink. Lunch chick best greenbeans yam potato diced up. 2 hrs later fruit. 2 hrs later protein. 5 oz steak salad and I’m going to have shake and going to bed. I stay hungry. This is an example of a day and a life of Thax Turner. Lol let me know and I will hold your ass accountable!!

Now this is not about me bragging, but lets look at will power here. Will power is what drives me to

Wake up before the sun

Alter my diet

Stay focused

A leak in my gas (personal will power) tank would definitely alter one or all of these variables and ultimately would have me bail on my competition in the next coming weeks.

EXCUSES KILL DREAMS!

Now as I said before I would give you the map, I’d give you the car, now I will show you how to keep that tank full until you reach the finish line.

Accept Responsibility – HOLD NO ONE ACCOUNTABLE BUT YOURSELF – everyone is trying to figure out a way to fuel their own ambitions, don’t rely on them to fuel yours, this is a one man game, accept personal responsibility and you are 1 step ahead.

We are creatures of habit, recognize the point when you are about to make an excuse for yourself and IGNORE IT . I know countless people who start new exercise resolutions every year, even several times a year. But they are always starting these new resolutions and never finishing them… this is an example of bailing on a car with a empty gas tank & hijacking another car thinking it has a full tank and will get you “there faster”…BULL CRAP … remember YOU ARE THE LEAK!

Leave LOGIC to philosophers – there is no logic in personal development, in fact some of the most innovative people of our time defied logic. Steve Jobs, imagined a device that could hold 100′s of thousands of songs, while we were still marveling at our tape deck. Any logic in that ? Mark Zuckerberg imagined a place where friends could meet and hangout, he was masterminding FACEBOOK, while everyone else was hanging out “AT THE BAR” any logic in that ? As I said leave the logic to Philosophers and Debate Clubs, as logic is the ultimate double standard used to shape the argument of any perspective one chooses. IM ALL ABOUT ACHIEVING DREAMS AND FINANCIAL SUCCESS not debating the evolution of man.

Set Goals and focus on the end result – not the journey.

SCREW THE WORLD – Often times we limit ourselves because we fear what others think of us, and this is kind of funny. Think about it…if you had a million dollar idea or opportunity, what do you care what others think ? especially if that “other person” is simply a wonderful ball of MEDIOCRITY ? There is nothing mediocre about success.

Thax Turner here, now today I want to discuss some easy steps that will help you set the way for a better you and change your life starting now. In all of my teachings and live presentations I am often asked, “Where do I begin?” So I created these 8 steps, basically tips that will help you achieve your personal development goals. Now in order for you to be successful in anything you do, you need a roadmap, a GPS if you will and that is exactly what you are getting below. Read On…

Personal Development Tips & Strategies – 7 steps

Acknowledge and be honest with yourself that there is a discrepancy between where you are and where you want to be. Amazingly this simple step if overlooked and is the reason why people tend to fail. Having no benchmark, and no point of origin to compare to often leaves progress unnoticed. It’s like a weight loss goal with before and after photos – You really can’t compare how far you have come without having that DAY 1 photo. With that said make sure you are aware of where you are now, so that you can see progress of where you want to be later, and this simple step requires as I said before HONESTY & ACKNOWLEDGEMENT – after all, you can’t be right if you don’t know you are wrong!

Take a panoramic view of your life, what do you want out of life ? What do you want to achieve in life ? Now if life is too big of a pie to chew on, then ask yourself where do you want to be in 5 years ? You see my focus is on helping people make MORE MONEY, and I always tell my students, you have to be a thousandaire, before you can be a hundred thousandaire, before you can be a millionaire! So scale back you ultimate goals to micro goals where they are more attainable in the near future, and thus helping you to see progress.

What are you doing now ? right now? that is bringing you one step closer to achieving your goals ? Be honest ? you see nothing equals nothing, what you put in is what you get out, so the key here is to acknowledge yourself for making positive forward steps. Often times we make excuses, for why we didn’t move forward, or why we chose not to move forward, but we never take personal responsibility, it’s always some external force that ruins the day right ? Truth is THIS IS YOUR LIFE BUDDY … you control all aspects of it. If I challenged you to save 1 penny a day, for 365 days, could you do it ? What prevents you from saving 1 penny a day ? and if you miss a day or two, what prevents you from making up those lost days/pennies ? NOTHING BUT WILL!

Now step 3 leads into step 4 – What is holding you back , what keeps you from moving forward ? many times it is psychological, disinterest, or frustration of NOT GETTING WHAT YOU WANT NOW, but that is the beauty of personal development, it is all about what you do now that affects what you do tomorrow that will ultimately effect what you get A YEAR FROM NOW … Personal development is like interest in a savings account, it compounds. You need to be able to see the future, and remember “THE FUTURE HOLDS YOUR GOAL” as I said in step 3 what are you doing to get there ?

Whatever is holding you back is PUBLIC ENEMY #1 – is it low self esteem ? Confidence ? These things are common, and easy to overcome, and I will cover these things further along in my blog. if it is external, like social pressure, or lifestyle, or time management, remember that can easily be solved. JUST TURN YOUR BACK and focus on YOU… your time on this great earth is too short to get caught up in the nuances of distractions that do not need to be in your life. Ultimately the choice is yours.

Take a new risk by a certain date in the near future. Living in the “comfort zone” is a surefire way to ensure your own misery. It’s an absolute trap. And every day people fall into the comfort zone trap, build their comfortable nest, and literally rot away. Of course, be smart about your risks. For some people a risk might be talking to a stranger in the grocery store. For other people a risk could be asking their boss for a promotion. When you step out of your comfort zone you grow. And growth is the ultimate aim of personal development. Once you take that new risk, make a schedule for future risk taking. You can start with something simple like “1 risk each week.”

Finally, the last step in this life changing list is to review your results and repeat the tips continuously. As you find out what’s working you’ll want to do more. And when you learn what your downfalls are you will work on those as well (recall tip #3 and 4).

Napoleon Hill considered by many the “Godfather” of personal development is infamous for his cutting edge, forward thinking approach to personal development.

Napoleon Hill born October 26, 1883 was one of the early innovators and authors of the modern approach to personal success. His literature still milled by today’s most successful motivational speakers, Tony Robbins, Dr. Deepak Chopra, and Wayne Dyer.

Now when we talk about personal development we talk about reaching our goals, our dreams, the patience to achieve, and the dedication to continue the pursuit.

The quote above by Napoleon Hill “A Goal Is A Dream With A Deadline”

Represents the core of my teachings and how I invigorate the lives of many who fall victim to the passivity of life. You see we are hardwired genetically to progress, to pursuit, to thrive, to want – These factors are conducive to the evolution of man, from the hunchback cave man who sought to make the best tools for hunting, to the modern man who seeks to push the envelope of technology providing the cures for every disease known to man, space exploration, communication, and wealth creation.

PASSIVITY IS THE ENEMY OF PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

As you now understand – Passivity is not an inherit trait of the human race or any other species at that. In fact passivity is a taught condition, let me explain.

How often in our lives have we heard:

WAIT !

ACCEPT THINGS FOR WHAT THEY ARE

BETTER THINGS WILL COME DOWN THE ROAD

NOT NOW

TOMORROW

LATER

MAYBE

As a kid we hear these things all the time. Remember the GI Joe or Barbie figures we wanted a little too much ? We would ask our parents to hear the immediate rebuttal of NO ? in fact we heard NO more than YES!

Now I am not suggesting we spoil our kids rotten, but we should be conscious of the long term psychological molding. Instead of saying “NO”, or “later”, or “maybe”, or “not now” we should consider the alternative “EXPLAINING WHY”. As parents we take for granted the authority of “NO” with the expectation that it is a suffice answer.

But what if we structured the “NO” into a statement that is progressive ? That teaches our children the importance of GOALS, and achievement – e.g.

Mom can I have this video game ?

Not until you bring up your “C” average in history class

You see just a “NO” is definitive (an end) – but a “NO” structured into a GOAL is progressive (cause for pursuit)

Now you need to ask yourself am I conditioned by passivity ? More than likely the answer is a profound YES!

A goal is a dream with a deadline: sums up the difference between achievement and failure – Procrastinating with something as important as LIFE is the equivalent to a life’s sentence in prison – you waste so much of your human potential, you become stagnant while watching the world around you progress, you have the misconception that your time is infinite, when in reality the ticker is ticking and rapidly approaching 0:00.

What you do in the next moments the next seconds will shape the moments and seconds thereafter, if you do nothing now you will get nothing then. It’s time to make that decision , time to change, time to move forward, time to kick passivity in the ass! and I am ready to show you how it’s done.

Yours Truly

Personal Development

It’s the purest results will vary type of product on the planet yet it is the best investment one could make on themselves. The road to a new you is one of those things that requires patience, dedication, and an open mind. Having an open mind is probably the most critical component to re-creating your person. Yes there are a lot of personal development products out there. From Jim Rohn to Tony Robbins – with great books such as “The Secret”, well great for some, as this book is up for debate. But lets really talk about personal development strategies that will help you create a new you.

We Will Focus On 3 Things:

How To Change Your Behavior

Learning New Skills

Working (Changing) Your Personality

How to Change Your Behavior

Changing your behavior is not to be confused with who you are. We have seen time and time again on shows like Dr. Phil where behavior such as drug abuse, alters the perception of others upon an individual but does not alter the inter-perspective of the drug abuser – for many they perceive themselves as very good people, and though the general public may disagree with such disgust, we must understand that behavior is a free radical, a variable not dependent nor depended on by any other variable in a person’s personality or demeanor.

BEHAVIOR DOES NOT DEFINE A PERSON – A PERSON DEFINES & CONTROLS BEHAVIOR

Changing Your Behavior - Every self improvement aspect requires change in behavior. There are many ways to change it, but the easiest way is by starting to observe your thinking process. When you learn how to do that, you will find no difficulty in preventing negative thoughts from coming to your mind. The positive in / positive out is the foundation to the Law Of Attraction . Where you focus on stating problems in a structured positive way in the form of a GOAL! This way you will gradually start feeling better inside, causing the outside world manifest according to how you feel.

Never let problems define your goal

Always know that life has many options – You have the power of choice and free will, there is never a CHECKMATE in life – and though it may feel this way … understand that the instinct of every living breathing thing on earth is to fight or flee. Flee may be the intuitive decision but fight and valor provides the BIGGEST REWARD.

Avoid individuals who share the same behavior – A gossip girl who hangs with gossip girls will have a hard time changing her behavior if she continue to affiliate herself with others who chose not to change.

Baby Step It – this does not mean you procrastinate and say “hey, I’ll do it tomorrow” every day that pasts is a set back in growth and change.

Learning new skills – Understanding that learning is the foremost important component to change will allow you to engage in activities that procure results. Personally as a body builder – I had to learn the skills, the tricks, the tools that would allow me to reach my genetic potential. Needless to say this required a lot of study, but as with all things personal development is a study of oneself and acknowledgement that sometimes we do not have all the tools, the pursuit of the right tools and skills opens the door to progressive change. LONG TERM PROGRESSIVE CHANGE.

Search for advice online (read articles, join specific forums, associations, sign up for newsletters of relevant organizations).

Do not waste your time on unnecessary activities. I wanted to grow larger biceps – therefore leg presses would not help me achieve my goal. Laser targeting your efforts in accordance to your goals and seeking information pertinent to those goals is the difference between success and failure.

Read books about the skill that you want to acquire. – In my body building example I would probably end up reading Muscle Magazine… make sense ?

Learn to become productive – Productive means Progressive – ask yourself “what am I learning ? is it setting me up to reach my goals or is it de railing and setting me up for failure” You cannot measure results without progress and that is a fact.

Completely Changing Your Personality

Now earlier I stated that behaviors do not define a person or personality…So what does and how do we change it ?

Usually people understand that they need to change after doing something for far too long. Or they may realise that they are constantly going in loops through life. The old saying holds true, keep doing what you are doing and you will keep getting what you are getting. The personality variable comes in the form of two different categories

Disclaimer – this is not a medical assumption as I do not hold a degree in psychology. However there are two types of people in this world – Those who lead , those who follow within these groups we have subsets, those who “do” and those who “don’t” each belonging to their respective parent group. We can see that personality segmenting allows us to get a better grasp of who we are and what we are trying to become.

You may understand that you are stuck in a dead end job and see no way out. Or you may realize that the relationship that simply does not work. Yet years pass by before you really face such reality. Passiveness is a trait of noble and wise but can be bridged to the trait of the laziness and incompetence. Self awareness puts you in the “noble and wise” category – and that brings us to the good news

If you are in such situation, you are quite likely to succeed in changing yourself. This is because you have finally realised that you have wasted years of your life. Now you really understand that every minute of your life is valuable. From now on, you will not let anyone stop you from change. …Right?

To learn more on how we can help you achieve the life you aspire with health, wealth, and growth in mind give me a ring. Lets begin the first step in your growth and journey as you make a better you through Personal Development.

There is seldom an opportunity that presents itself that changes peoples lives for the better… The Avant Comp Plan highlights the opportunity and it’s leveraged compensation structure to allow you to easily make $1,000 – $5,000 -$ 10,000 a sale. However, there is more to what this company embodies. You see I have created a vast amount of wealth in life, and what drew me to this company beyond their compensation plan is there passion and unrelenting pursuit of empowerment. Imagine empowering someone’s life, helping them to overcome the struggles of devastation. The people of Avant are those people…and this is why I choose to advocate this organization. There is more to life than just attaining a personal wealth, or the luxury car, or the nice big house. You see life is short, but a legacy is forever, and imagine what you could do with your new found wealth with a business like no other.

Imagine helping individuals in need
